Crypt: A Client and Web App for FileVault 2 Encryption and Escrow

A new FileVault 2 escrow app has been released recently and offers a good alternative to Califlower Vest.  The app is called Crypt and it is Graham Gilbert’s baby.  Crypt has both a client and a web app (which is django-based).  Crypt seems like a great solution if you do not want to use Califlower Vest and Google App Engine or buy a commercial product such as Casper Suite.  You can check out Crypt over at Graham’s github page.  It should be noted that this code is not considered production quality by Graham, but if you are interested in using it, I am sure that feedback would be appreciated.

Rich Trouton has also written up a guide on how to get Crypt configured and running.  You can check the guide out on Rich’s blog.
